Religion or Science?
Which will stop the spread of HIV/AIDS? (read this article to help you decide). I can’t decide if I should laugh or cry…
From the World Health Organization website, for those of you who, like myself, were curious:
Kevin M. De Cock, MD, is the director of the WHO Department of HIV/AIDS, a post to [...]

My Super Power of Choice – Teleportation
Posted in Funny!, Science and Technology, Thoughts, tagged teleportation of atom quantum information on February 3, 2009 | 2 Comments »
One of my favourite questions to ask people is: If you could have one super power what would it be and why?
I always say teleportation. Some people choose to be invisible, or to fly, but I think teleportation would be the best. In an instant I could be anywhere I wanted to be. I would [...]

This site is one of the most interesting sites I have come across in a very long time. As the name Pretty Loaded suggests, it is actually an archive of loading pages from websites, which as technology improves have become a thing of the past more often than not now. So slow down, and take [...]

I have found some interesting projects being worked on at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. One in particular, Knowledge in the Making, has caught my attention. As a self-proclaimed bibliophile, I LOVE books. I also enjoy the process of writing, and have had many interesting conversations about the writing process.

Butterfly.
What comes to your mind when you hear the word butterfly? Probably something beautiful.
I saw a really cool butterfly in Colombia that had clear wings… you could see right through them! How amazing is that? Lepidoptera is an order of insects that includes butterflies and moths, so they really are genetically speaking, quite similar.
Now, [...]

I wanted to take a minute to pay tribute to Michael Crichton, who passed away at age 66. His death was passed with little ceremony, as a historical election for the USA took precedent. I have a soft spot in my heart for him, partly because I know we are related somehow (due to the [...]

So back onto this idea of twins or doubles existing. I was looking into Jose Saramago, the Portugese author of Blindness, which has been made into a movie that everyone seems to be talking about. I am one of those people that usually finds the book is better than the movie, so I am reading [...]
